It might do for a single night, but the rooms need better upkeep and cleaning. Hygiene wasn't great, and the place seemed pretty understaffed.

Whenever I'm in Kolkata, I stay here. It's in a good spot, and the staff are really friendly.

Our booking for five people and eight nights in January, made through Booking.com the previous December for a friend's wedding in Kolkata, fell apart on arrival. The hotel told us it had cancelled our reservation the day before so it could book the whole property for a wedding. We'd contacted them through Booking.com before the trip to ask about leaving our luggage before the rooms were ready, and nobody mentioned a cancellation. We received no message from the hotel. Even if they'd sent one the day before, we were flying from the UK to India and wouldn't have seen it. We had chosen the place partly because it offered payment on arrival. Right after we booked, the hotel emailed asking for the full amount immediately to secure the reservation. The messages looked suspicious, so we checked with Booking.com and were told we didn't need to pay. Having to find somewhere else for five people for eight nights at the last minute was a horrible start to our trip. This was the worst accommodation experience I've had while travelling. You can't know whether your booking will still be there when you turn up, so don't stay here.

We paid in advance but were refused a room. After keeping us waiting for over an hour, they told us there was nothing available. The service was awful: staff were rude and ignored us, which felt insulting. We were prepared to accept that there was no room, but nobody even tried to help. One staff member kept scrolling on her phone and chatting with the others. OYO also hasn't refunded our advance payment. The worst experience I've had.
