We were left outside the hotel for about an hour and a half, from 12:30 AM until around 2 AM. The girls in our group were alone out there, and it felt completely unsafe. The night receptionist had locked the door and gone to sleep, and he was too drunk to answer calls. After we contacted OYO, someone from the day shift came to let us in, but he was drunk too and spent about 20 minutes finding the keys. The phone numbers listed online and on the hotel banner were no help: one was switched off, another didn’t exist, and the person who answered the third was drunk and told us to find somewhere else nearby and come back for our luggage the next day. We finally got our rooms back at about 2 AM after complaining to OYO. Getting the rooms was a problem from the start. We had a booking ID, but the receptionist said there was no booking and told us to contact OYO for a refund. After a long argument, we got two rooms. Our check-in was at 11 AM, and we arrived at 6 PM, but neither room was clean. Staff took another two hours to clean them. Before leaving for a function, we told the receptionist to keep the door open until 1 AM in case we were late. Inside the rooms, the AC and lights didn’t work, and there was no water in the bathroom. The staff were drunk even during the day. We were refused a refund when we wouldn’t accept the dirty room. I’ve never had a worse experience in Kota. It felt unsafe for girls, and I don’t think the hotel would take responsibility if something happened. OYO should remove it from the site and the hotel should be shut down. If I could, I’d rate it minus 1000.
