Teanest Nightingale

The tea garden setting was so peaceful, and the wooden rooms felt cozy, spacious, and well looked after. The old English style reminded me of a Ruskin Bond book. I had a lovely, comfortable stay at Teanest Nightingale, Kotagiri, and would happily come back. It's a great place for family or friends. Breakfast had plenty of choice and tasted great. They provided different teas with an electric kettle, and hot drinking water was available on request. Dinner was classic in taste, though a little expensive. It needs to be ordered in advance, and nearby options are limited. The food deserves a special mention for its careful preparation and hygiene, and even the presentation was a treat to see. The staff were polite and helpful. Evening bonfires and games added to the stay. Thanks, Jeremy, for the good service. Laundry is available for an extra cost. This stay will stick with me.

The lawn out front and the quiet surroundings were lovely, and the view was beautiful too. We stayed in the Magpie Robin room and had a great staycation. The staff were attentive and welcoming. Food was good, though pricier than I expected. It also worked well for us with a toddler. Highly recommended.

The kids had fun with the playtime activities, and all of us enjoyed the food. Breakfast came to the table, with plenty of homely, delicious options. We had a pleasant family stay. Thanks to the team for making us feel at home.

The food was the one good thing about our stay. All the dishes were really nice. But the hotel itself wasn't what the videos and photos suggested, so don't make the same mistake we did by relying on those promotional clips. We went on April 16 and 17, 2026, with our five-year-old. We'd booked two hotels in the same 6k-6.5k price range, both three-star: Accord Hotel Ooty and Teanest Nightingale Kotagiri. Accord was superb, but this one wasn't nice. There were no indoor or outdoor activities, and no nearby places to visit. Construction nearby also made it noisy, and our child had a hard time. We asked the manager to cancel and refund us. He checked with the owner and said they'd refund only if we cancelled more than 15 days beforehand, so we had to stay. It was already 5 pm and there were no nearby rooms available.
