The Metro Manor

Being right across from the bus stand is the best thing about this hotel. It makes getting around Kozhikode very easy, and it could work for a short stay if location matters more than comfort. The rooms need maintenance, though. The shower wasn’t working, and they could at least have provided a bucket. The towels were a bit stained, and the AC wasn’t working either. Better upkeep and cleaner bathrooms would make this a much better stay.

For a brief visit, this is acceptable if getting around easily is your main concern. The hotel is directly opposite the bus stand, which makes travel around Kozhikode convenient. The room condition needs work. The air conditioner and shower didn’t work, and there wasn’t even a bucket as an alternative. The towels looked stained too. More attention to maintenance and bathroom hygiene would make the stay much more comfortable.

The one real plus is the location, right next to the new bus stand. The rooms need much better upkeep: dirty-looking walls, badly wired TV cables with poor picture quality, a torn bed headrest, old-looking towels, and a broken-looking fan cover. There’s no toilet exhaust fan either. Owners, please look at the overall quality.

The bathroom was clean, well maintained, and had no smell or mould. That was why I could put up with a dusty room for a one-night stay. I chose a non-AC room. The TV worked, but about 30% of the display was broken. The pillows smelled, and the rooms could have been kept better.
