That peaceful view over the water made Backwater Breeze homestay a lovely place to slow down. The hosts were so welcoming that I felt at home right away, and they were glad to help with questions or local tips. Breakfast, made with such care, was a highlight. I'd happily recommend it to anyone visiting Kumarakom.

A quiet, homely place for a night or two, run in a humble way. Some amenities could be better: a hot kettle, hot water available 24/7, and especially a washroom for cab drivers. Nearby, the food is traditional and options are limited.

Each room has a sit-out with a lovely view of the waterway. The homestay is run by an elderly lady and her niece, and both are hospitable, helpful hosts.

Backwater Breeze is a lovely, peaceful place to watch boats and birds and just relax. The family running it was kind and helpful, and breakfast was fantastic. Our kids loved it so much.
