Hotel Sandra Palace

The room was spacious and comfortable, and the restaurant food was good. We especially liked the mutton biryani and BxxxRoast. It was handy to be within walking distance of the kalaripayattu and kathakali centres, so we could walk back after the show. Parking was difficult on the very busy street. We stayed for one day, and service could be better: we had to ask three times for a tea kettle, and there wasn’t a convenient plug for it. We were told thali meals and the buffet lunch required booking, and that a la carte food would be served when time permitted because they were very busy, even though we were hotel guests.

The staff were polite and respectful, and the room was clean. I asked for pure Jain food, and they made me a delicious meal. Just be sure to tell the chef which ingredients or items you can’t have. Otherwise, it was a good stay. Thanks for your time.

The hotel is centrally located, an easy walk to the Periyar tiger reserve entrance, with the Kathakali and Marshall art centre nearby too. Our deluxe non a.c. room was spacious, neat and clean. The staff were polite and professional, and there’s both car parking and an elevator. Breakfast had plenty of variety and was delicious; the restaurant also has reasonable prices. Highly recommend. I loved the view from the balcony. The rooms were big, clean, and well maintained, and the service was great. The breakfast buffet was amazing too. It’s a nice hotel, though the location makes it a little expensive.
