Our family stayed here for a couple of days, and the staff weren't helpful. The hotel lacks basic things for families, like milk for kids. What they call a restaurant is really a restobar, more of a bar than a place to eat. Breakfast runs only from 8:30 to 10:00. In a tourist spot like Thekkady, they should have an earlier option around 7:30, like the other hotels there. Staff rejected our request for an earlier or later breakfast on both days. There was no hot water in the bathroom, and we didn't get extra bedding for the kids despite being charged extra for them. I wouldn't recommend this place, especially to families.

The Mahogany room was a suite with a large bedroom, a living area, two bathrooms, a roomy eight-seat dining area, and access to a terrace. The location is convenient, within walking distance of the market and about 1-1.5 km from the Periyar national park parking. Breakfast was decent, though there weren't as many choices as at other Treebo properties, and refills were slow. For our two-day stay with three people, they initially left just one 1-litre water bottle. We had to insist to get another on the second day. One bathroom had no shower, and neither it nor its basin had toiletries, not even soap for showering or handwashing. Another basin leaked, leaving water on the floor and causing a bad smell.

The location worked really well for travelling, and there was plenty of parking. We enjoyed the stay and service. The rooms and service were very good, and the employees were friendly and quick to respond. Thanks from Jose and Family.

Being right next to the restrobar makes this a poor fit for families. The breakfast and service were a big disappointment. I strongly recommend choosing another property.

Treebo Kumily Gate Hotel in Kumily was an easy place to stay, just behind the main bus stand. Several attractions are within 1 km and can be reached on foot. We were there for three days, and the spacious rooms were very clean and well maintained. Staff were exceptionally friendly, always ready to help with a smile. Breakfast was included and lovely, and they happily brought extra dishes when we asked.
