Chamba Camp Thiksey

We spent four nights at TUTC's Chamba Camp Thiksey in July 2025, on a full-board stay that included a tour guide and driver. Both my wife and I felt safe and looked after throughout. It was one of our best stays and experiences, and we’d highly recommend Chamba Camp Thiksey and TUTC. The camp’s service was what really made it stand out. Manager Piyush and Vikash checked in each day, helped with our plans, and made sure we were doing well. Our 24/7 butler, Saurabh, was attentive, thoughtful, and always on top of what we needed. Restaurant staff member Arnap made sure each course was a pleasure. We stayed in the Presidential Suite tent. It was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with air conditioning, heating, power sockets, and WIFI. Our tent looked straight out at Thiksey Monastery, between the Ladakh and Zanskar ranges. It was the most luxurious glamping we’ve experienced, including stays in India, Sri Lanka, and Africa. The food menu changed daily, with European/Western and Indian options. We mostly chose Indian dishes, and they were delicious. For my wife’s birthday, the team arranged a private breakfast with a beautiful view and a freshly baked cake. We also went stargazing with Pooja, who knew the constellations and showed them to us through the camp’s powerful telescope. I highly recommend that experience. Tundup, our guide, and Rigzin, our driver, picked us up at the airport and took us back when we left. Tundup was knowledgeable and gave us great suggestions for views and photo spots on our outings. Rigzin handled the roads and passes with skill, and we always felt in safe hands. I didn’t acclimatize well and asked to go to the hospital because of altitude sickness. Piyush, Saurabh, Tundup, and Rigzin all worked together to make my hospital stay as comfortable as possible. When I returned to camp that evening, they’d set up an oxygen tank in our room. They adjusted the itinerary and were flexible throughout. Everything was handled smoothly, and I’m grateful for their care and help.
