Hotel Lonavla

The staff were welcoming and even arranged a taxi to help us get around locally. We spent two nights and three days here and loved it. The rooms were cozy and nice, and everything was well maintained. The hotel is right in the city center, close to all the good spots.

A peaceful spot for a short getaway, with comfortable rooms that were fairly clean. The staff were polite and helpful, though sometimes service could be quicker. My stay at this Lonavala hotel was generally pleasant, and it’s a nice place to relax with some room for improvement.

The way the manager spoke to me at checkout was so rude. I’d paid for two nights, but only stayed one night and five hours. I was alone because the other person on my booking couldn’t join for some reason. My train wasn’t until around 8 pm, so I asked to extend the stay and paid 90% of their tariff. I also asked them to arrange an auto for a location around 6:30. They said they’d call me, so I waited, thinking they were still arranging the taxi or rickshaw. Instead, the manager called to ask when I was leaving. I told him I was waiting for his call about the taxi, since he’d said he would arrange it. Lonavala doesn’t have Ola or Uber. He then asked how much longer I’d take and told me I couldn’t wait that long. I said I was ready and would leave right away. At reception, he stopped me and said they had to inspect the room before I could go. After I’d paid for two nights, that treatment made me feel like I was taking over the room and refusing to leave. Is this any way to speak to a customer?

The rooms are cheap, so I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for an affordable stay. I’ve been here several times, and the food, drinks, and service have always been excellent. Room maintenance could be better, though.
