Hotel Manas

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. There were electricity problems across the rooms, and the pool water looked like gutter water. The AC switched off by itself after 10 minutes because of a power overload. In one of the rooms we booked, all the lights and the fan went off. The manager had left the hotel and said he’d talk to us in the morning. What kind of hospitality is that? This is a third class hotel. Stay away.

The room was better than average, though the bathroom plumbing wasn’t good. Overall, it was a good room, and I’d give it 3.5 out of 5. We booked through MakeMyTrip, but at first they said the booking wasn’t confirmed because there were too few rooms available. They confirmed it two hours later.

Breakfast was disappointing. The free meal was one plate of poha and a cup of tea, and the upma they’d mentioned wasn’t available. The next morning a group of 35 guests checked out, making a huge amount of noise, and none of the staff asked them to keep it down. We stayed outside the hotel as much as we could. The bathroom smelled, apparently from the gas water heater, and the room furniture was old. The entrance wasn’t well lit, and the staff were shabbily dressed and busy with their own work instead of attending to the guests waiting there. As soon as we saw the hotel, the weekend break started on a bad note. It looked nothing like the photos on Booking.com. Very disappointing. Never again.

If all you need is somewhere affordable to sleep, this can be a decent option. It has AC, hot water, TV, and a neat bathroom, but there’s no lift and you’ll need to use the stairs. The AC and heater were okay, and the room was alright apart from some flies. The blanket and bedroll were average. They replaced them right away when I asked because I felt itchy. I didn’t eat at the restaurant, so I can’t comment on it. I couldn’t find the name Manas outside. I think it may have changed to the horizon, and without a proper sign it was very difficult to identify the place. They tried to charge me an extra 500 because my family members hadn’t been added during booking, even though they had assigned the room after looking at my booking. I hadn’t asked for an extra bed or cot. The swimming pool wasn’t working.
