The service boys deserve credit: they were well trained in how to speak with and respect customers. My experience with the rest of the hotel was poor. The receptionist was rude, and staff pressured customers to leave five-star ratings. I booked for two days, but nobody came to clean the room or change the towels, even after I asked. The intercom usually didn't work, and complaints led to arguments instead of a fix. Breakfast listed on the menu wasn't available. I ordered dinner at about 11:25 PM; they accepted, then half an hour later refused to serve it, saying the kitchen was closing. As the saying goes, a grand shop can still serve disappointing food. I won't book here again.

It used to be one of the best places near the railway station, but Hotel Mezban has gone downhill. The building looks old and rather grim from outside, though the inside is good. It needs maintenance, and there's no private parking. The food is okay, and the rooms are about what you'd expect for the price.

The rooms smelled bad, the sheets had stains that looked like blood and semen, and the toilets were so foul that even going to pee was difficult. Cleanliness clearly wasn't a concern. At night, people from a nearby shop came into the reception area to drink and play cards, which was troubling when you're with family or someone. The staff and owner seemed cheap and untrustworthy to me. A big no.

The food is good, reasonably priced, and can be brought to your room. The main advantage is how close the hotel is to the railway station. It's a budget place with spacious rooms in an old building, and the rooms have had some renovation. There are different room categories, but I'd choose a luxury room. The rooms are okay.

The staff were cooperative and very polite, but the rooms had far too many bedbugs (Khatmal). If they get rid of them, I'd give the place more than five stars.
