Central Hotel and Banquet in Aminabad has a lovely old building and affordable rates, but the place needs care. The food was okay and edible, though it didn't feel like much effort had gone into it. The rooms and bathrooms could have been cleaner, and the general hygiene was only middling. It isn't a luxury hotel, but basic cleanliness should still be there. Some staff were decent and seemed capable, though the atmosphere didn't bring out their best. One employee made the stay memorable for the wrong reason: he called at midnight to chase dues. When I objected, he said, "If you're living in a hotel, you got to pay and take the tantrums of the staff as well." That was completely out of line. He also complained that the owners don't pay salaries on time, which came across as unprofessional and reflected badly on him. The heritage building has potential, but it needs maintenance and a better staff environment. My experience was average, about 2.5/5. If you're on a tight budget and can tolerate some quirks, it may do, though there are better places. The owners should address the staffing and upkeep.
