Hotel Samrat

The owner is a very genuine, humble person who went out of his way to make sure I had what I needed. I booked at the last minute, and the stay met my basic needs without disappointing me. I asked for hot tea each day, and it arrived on time; room cleaning was available daily too. Since I stayed longer and a larger room was available, he upgraded me at no extra cost. Taxi, money exchange, and food service were also available, though I didn't use them.

The owner made me feel at home, and meeting him was a real pleasure. He's caring, honest, and trustworthy, the best person I've met on my long trip around India. I came looking for somewhere quiet and comfortable in Ludhiana and found that, plus more. The rooms were cozy, very clean, and spacious compared with hotels at the same or even higher prices elsewhere in India. Shops are close, the location is central and convenient for getting around Ludhiana, and taxis are easy to find. I was so happy with the accommodation that I'd recommend it highly to anyone. A real gem!

The owner here is world class, which is what most reviews seem to talk about. The other parts might be average. Nearby hotels aren't always great and some have fake reviews, so be careful. This place is close to AC Market, within walking distance of both the market and the station, and handy if you're here to shop.

As a Western woman traveling alone in India for the first time, I felt safe and looked after here. The owner even picked me up from the train station at no extra charge and took care of all my needs. Staff spoke English, and high speed internet was readily available free of charge. After I checked out, the owner still offered to help me with anything I needed in the area. The hotel seems like excellent value for the money, and everyone was incredibly helpful. I'd absolutely recommend it to any traveler, especially foreigners who feel out of place. Truly a wonderful establishment!
