Hotel New Bright plaza

The room smelled awful, and the overall condition was poor. The pillow covers, bedsheets and bed cover weren't clean, the phone didn't work, and the food tasted very bad. For room service or even to place an order, I had to go to reception myself. The manager was very rude and didn't respond when I tried reaching him multiple times. I’d already told reception the day before that I planned to check out early, but when we tried to leave in the morning, nobody opened the door on time. All the staff seemed to be asleep and weren't responding. I wouldn't recommend this place.

We ended up paying for the whole order and handed over the rice parcels, asking the man who took our order to donate or sell them so he could make a better profit. He refused to cancel the two rice plates that were still pending, even though we'd had enough and didn't want them. We'd ordered from his menu and followed his suggestions, but got something different. My brother argued, but we were hungry, so I said fine. Then we ordered the same dish again and found it was stale. The waiter called the manager, who confirmed it. My family and I had gone to this hotel for lunch the other day. There was nobody to greet us when we arrived. The person at reception came in, set up the table and took our order himself. He seemed cordial at first, but was the most arrogant man I've met. I don't usually leave a bad review over a few small mistakes, but he was extremely arrogant. The rest of the people were still fine and willing to admit their mistake. The cook seemed like the worst person on the planet because he would never accept the truth. I strongly advise people not to visit NEW BRIGHT PLAZA HOTEL, especially while that man is there. Replying to your comment: It was a mistake that we didn't call the food inspector, but it was a learning experience. We can't stoop to your level or tell blatant lies like you. If we hadn't wanted to pay, why would we have given you rice parcels that we'd paid for ourselves? Your videos are ample evidence. You should improve your understanding of customer service.

The rooms and food were really good, and the staff were generous and helpful. It’s clean, with good amenities, and reasonably priced. If you're looking for somewhere to stay in Mahabaleshwar, this is a good choice.

The paneer they served was stale, so after all the hassle we cancelled the jeera rice. Apparently you can't cancel an order even when you can't eat it. The service and food were pathetic, and the staff came across as rude and crafty. We asked for wheat tandoori roties, and they confirmed they had them, but served chapaties instead. They told us those were the same thing. I don't want to give even one star. Please stay away. Edit, in response to your snarky reply: We complained about the chapaties when they were served, not when we paid. Since it was clear you had no idea what the difference was between a tandoori roti and a chapati, we let it go. Serving stale food for the fourth time is fine, right? Guess why we had to order again? It had nothing to do with the quality or taste of your food. We cancelled the jeera rice as soon as we were done with your antics, not when it reached the table. You think a sarcastic “thank you for your review” makes the nightmare of your food and service disappear? You left out that we paid for the jeera rice and still refused to take it with us. Don't think you outsmarted your customer by lying so shamelessly. If you spent half as much time fixing your food and service as defending yourself online, you might get better reviews. I said it to your face: these tricks won't take your business far. Bright Plaza indeed, lol.
