Hotel Vyankatesh

It's a decent place in a convenient spot in the marketplace. We went in the off season and found the rates reasonable. Service was good, and staff were polite and attentive. Paneer Rajwada, which they recommended, had soft paneer and medium spice, but the gravy and taste were average to me, so 3/5. The Dal Khichdi disappointed me. Its vegetables were raw and not cooked properly, which spoiled the taste and texture. I didn't enjoy it at all, 1/5. Chaas and roti were fine. Overall, an okay visit, though the food could improve.

The hotel's actual condition was nowhere near what was advertised. The photos online looked completely different, and the positive reviews seemed fake to me. This felt like a scam aimed at tourists, and I wouldn't recommend the place to families, couples, or anyone visiting Mahabaleshwar. There are cleaner hotels at the same price. It's called a 3 star property, but to me it's a dharamshala, not even one star. We had already paid online, yet they demanded extra money at check-in without explaining why. It felt like they were trying to loot customers after booking. When we complained, staff were rude, unprofessional, and no help at all. The rooms were dirty and badly maintained, and smelled horrible. The room and corridor had a strong smell of urine and potty, and the whole property smelled as if dogs had urinated everywhere. The washroom was unhygienic, the bedsheets looked unwashed, and cleanliness clearly didn't matter to the management. I've never had a worse hotel experience. Worst experience ever. Not recommended at all.

The quiet, comfortable atmosphere and convenient location made the stay easy, and the rooms had the essentials and were kept clean. Staff were kind and quick to help. I had a really good time at Vyanakatesh Hotel, and for the price it’s a great choice for a family stay.
