Hotel Bodh International

After reporting my experience to the local Manali police station and Himachal Tourism Department, I want other travelers to know what happened. I booked two nights at Bodh International through MakeMyTrip and asked to extend my stay by one day when I checked in. The General Manager said rooms were available for ₹1800, and I agreed. I even tried to pay online on the first day, but they refused to confirm it. Two days later, while I was out exploring Manali with my driver, the hotel suddenly called and told me to leave immediately for a “new guest.” They wouldn’t honor the extension I’d been assured of. As I packed, the owner, who was the main culprit, yelled abusively, “Take your bag and get out of this hotel!” The GM and owner’s behavior left me feeling violated and unsafe. I’m heartbroken that a trip to beautiful Manali turned into this nightmare. I felt harassed by their unprofessional behavior. My advice is to be extremely cautious of Bodh International’s owner and management. They make what I consider fake promises and resort to verbal abuse. I hope no one else goes through this. Choose reputable hotels to protect your peace. 1/5 stars, stay away!

The location was a big plus, close to Mall Road, shops and restaurants, so getting around was easy. I stayed three nights over a weekend. Check-in was smooth and the front desk staff were polite, though not especially welcoming. The clean room felt a bit outdated, the bed was comfortable enough, but the pillows were flat and a bit stinking. The bathroom was small with basic amenities, and the shower pressure was weak. The exhaust fan was extremely noisy, almost like a propeller, and you couldn’t hear yourself talk with it on. Breakfast came with the stay, but the choices were limited and the food bland. I found a dead mosquito in the milk, which was really off-putting and raised serious concerns about cleanliness and food safety. I ate out after the first day. It’s okay for a short stay if you don’t expect luxury, but there’s room to improve. Overall it was okay, not great but not terrible.

Some staff had very bad manners and seemed to get sick of us asking for anything during meals. They also wouldn’t refill the daily complimentary water bottle if you didn’t take the cleaning service. That logic seemed absurd to me, and I’d never run into it before.

We went there, but our booking was moved to their other hotel, mountain pearl, which was superb.
