We checked in around 10 pm and the receptionist put us in a family suite instead of our usual rooms. At first we were thrilled with the upgrade, but things went downhill. The suite smelled strongly of the toilet. The manager stayed calm and expected us to put up with it overnight while she called a plumber in the morning. She said she'd move us to newer rooms if it wasn't fixed then. It seemed not to occur to her that four adults and three kids would need the toilet during the night, or that the smell would be unbearable. We had no real choice, so we stayed and managed with deodorant body sprays. The next surprise came at breakfast: by 9:30 am there was no food at the counter.
