The food was the biggest letdown for us: meals came late, didn’t taste good, and didn’t seem to be prepared hygienically. If that part improves, the rest of the stay was good. The owner took responsibility for things and was easy to talk to. We spent five days at Heritage Mandawa in December 2025. The property was well kept, with lovely paintings and comfortable, well-equipped rooms. They had geysers, AC, kettles, fans, and enough lighting. Housekeeping came regularly, and the staff did a good job cleaning the rooms. There was also a puppet show and folk dance, which were decent.

The room’s condition made for a very poor start. Dust covered the furniture, the sheets were messy and had visible blood stains, and an open stash of snacks and leftovers was sitting in a bedside drawer from previous guests. It didn’t look as if housekeeping had checked the room properly. Getting help was difficult too. The intercoms didn’t work, there was no menu for in-room dining, and we had to place orders using staff members’ personal phone numbers. Room service took a very long time. At checkout, we received loose handwritten invoice slips, and the reception had no envelopes. The invoices themselves were handwritten, which was surprising when even very small establishments in India now issue computer-generated GST bills. This stay fell well below basic hospitality standards and didn’t represent the heritage of India well. Think twice before booking this hotel in Mandawa.

Food was very average, and service was slow and poor. The staff also seemed completely untrained. Ms. Pooja and Mr. Dheeraj, though, were extremely helpful and took care of all our problems. Heritage Mandawa really does have a heritage feel. The rooms were large and clean, with hot water and electricity available around the clock. Some bathrooms did have ongoing leaks.

Mr. Dheeraj Maurya looked after us throughout the stay, and we were really happy with his service. We had a wonderful time and would come back.

The rooftop was a lovely spot to look out over the city and watch the stars at night, and breakfast was delicious. Our room was spotless, with hot water and beautiful paintings on the walls. The hotel’s history and all its paintings made the stay feel timeless. Thanks to the kind staff for helping us so much. The boss was very friendly too. I’d recommend checking it out if you’re going to Mandawa! :)
