We had an excellent time at Rangoli restaurant. Lunch and dinner were great, and the breakfast spread was impressive, especially the fresh unsweetened juices. The complimentary snack boxes were a pleasant surprise, and the rooms were well maintained. We stayed two nights at Fortune Valley on a family trip to Udupi with our two kids, and found it very comfortable. The staff were friendly and cooperative. Mr. Krishna Prabhu provided outstanding service during meals, and Mr. Umesh was very helpful. The pool could use some improvement, and adding more activities for kids would make the experience even better.

The service was warm and well organized. Staff made sure guests were comfortable and helped the evening feel special without hovering. We celebrated Valentine’s Day with the special poolside candlelight dinner at Fortune Valley View, and it became a memorable night. Soft lighting, candles, and elegant décor made the poolside setting feel serene. The cool evening breeze and peaceful surroundings were just right for a celebration. The menu had a good range of delicious starters, mains, and desserts, all nicely presented and full of flavor. Live counters and the desserts added something extra. It felt thoughtfully arranged and worth experiencing, especially for couples celebrating a special occasion in a romantic setting.

The bathroom wash area is a bit narrow by regular hotel standards, but we’d still stay here again next time we’re in the area. We had a nice stay while visiting our nephew, who’s studying in MIT. The location is great, with a nice restaurant, clean rooms, and a good gym. Access to Marena center is also great, especially for longer stays.

The bathroom and passage occasionally stink, apparently because of recycled water or air. Rooms are decent, though they have one or two teething issues. Housekeeping do a really good job every day, and the security staff are great. The in-house restaurant is pretty decent too, and most of its staff are friendly and proactive about looking after your needs. Reception is good apart from a couple of front desk people who don’t know how to smile. A few staff across the hotel’s departments could use customer service retraining. I’d recommend staying here in Manipal, especially if you have work at one of the MAHE institutions, but don’t expect Taj level service.
