Nathan Resort (Eco Friendly)

Rooms were decent, service acceptable, and the ambience wasn't that great. The pool was very small, and there’s no service landline. They charged ₹5000, which felt costly for the amenities and location. It’s far from just about everywhere, and connectivity is an issue. Tourist spots are around white town, a long way off, so better to find a hotel near there. Make this your last option if you don't have other choices.

The resort is easy to reach, with plenty of parking and a lovely, tidy front area where you can sit and chat, though mosquitoes were a real problem there. The small grounds are neat, and the well-kept laterite stone rooms look great. Staff were friendly too. A few things need attention: the pool is small and the water needs proper cleaning. There’s also a 2' gap by the pool steps where kids could fall, and the pool sits 5' above ground level, so handrails would help with safety. In the bathroom, the glass partition has visible gaps by the fixed edge and hinges, and the door latch is hard to secure. It’s 15 km from Pondicherry and there aren’t restaurants nearby. Home-cooked food is available if you pre-order, but that’s inconvenient, and better quality and more choice would help. Purified R.O. water is provided, though reused plastic bottles shared between rooms aren’t ideal. Jars with glass tumblers would be better. The rooms opposite the laterite stone ones could follow the same attractive design. The open areas could also be used for activities like table tennis or billiards.

Dhandapani was a wonderful host and always easy to reach. The place is just 15-20 minutes from the town center, with the beach about 300 meters away and the East Coast Road close by. The laterite block villa rooms are clean, comfortable, and roomy for two, and there’s a small but decent pool and a nice little garden. The price through Agoda was affordable. It would be handy to have a restaurant on site, though Swiggy and Zomato deliver.

The room was in poor shape on our first night. It hadn’t been cleaned properly and was very untidy, and the ceiling was unpainted. The toilet fittings were broken, and there was no latch on the door to lock it from inside. Only one power point worked in the whole room, which made charging our phones difficult. The TV wasn’t working either.
