Ocean Retreat

The shore is nearby and the view is good, plus the pool and ambience were nice. I liked the place, and it could be worth a try if you plan ahead for food and drinks. It’s far from town, so you’ll need your own vehicle to get there for a good meal. There’s no kitchen, coffee, or staff, which gets irritating. What they call a kitchen is an induction cooker for guests to use themselves. Who wants to cook on vacation?

The staff were courteous and helpful, and the stay felt memorable and home-like. What I paid made the experience reasonable, though I wouldn’t call it good value for money. I have to mention that towels didn’t arrive until 8 at night, after we’d already bathed twice without them. That may have been an unusual laundry glitch. The property has facilities such as RO water filters, massage sofas, and washing machines, but several weren’t maintained well. I’d give the experience four stars, but that could mislead people reading the reviews, so I’m leaving three. Cheers, OYO!

The villa was nice and seems newly built, with good privacy for couples or groups who want to have a party. But it needs proper maintenance, including the pool, which wasn’t in condition. The service wasn’t good, and they didn’t seem very interested in handling things. There’s no food, snacks, or cigarettes close by. This is around 25-30 km from Pondicherry, near the toll gate into Pondi, and feels like a villa in the middle of nowhere. Hope they look after it better.

It’s a quiet, private place for a distant vacation, and they provide a duplex apartment. The villa is amazing if you bring all your own things, because it isn’t really maintained. Bring groceries and toiletries too, since food places are a long way off.
