Mayfair On Sea, Morjim Beach

We stayed in a premium cottage facing the beach at Mayfair on Sea, Morjim, Goa, and found it comfortable and relaxing. The staff were helpful and courteous, and the food was good. You can step straight from your room onto the beach, so there’s no need to travel to get there. Farzi cafe is a nice spot for a sundowner, and the Spa centre therapists do a pretty good job. I’d recommend the property for a relaxing break away from the crowded parts of North Goa.

The deluxe room we originally booked was a big letdown, so we spoke to the front desk and paid to move to a premium cottage. We didn’t mind the extra cost because it was so much better. The room, bathroom, and balcony were spacious, the linens were extremely clean, and service was quickkk! A couple of things could be better. Since Farzi cafe handles in-room dining, the menu had no local food, which was a little disappointing. The music from Farzi can stay pretty loud late into the night, so choose a room away from the deck if you’re after quiet. Breakfast was average and the coffee was pathetic. Investing in a coffee machine would be a good idea, Farzi friends. The swimming pool was clean, but a bit small.

It’s a thoughtfully run, well-maintained hotel that suits a short two-to-three-day stay. They focus on the basics, with a clean room, comfortable bed, and hygienic surroundings, without adding unnecessary extras. Outsourcing the restaurant lets the hotel concentrate on its main hospitality work while specialists handle the complexities of food and beverage. I’d give the stay 8 out of 10. My only small deduction is that breakfast quality could be better.

Farzi Beach was a real highlight, with a lovely atmosphere and the convenience of being right there, though I thought the food could be better. I recently stayed at Mayfair on Sea and found the whole property very clean and well cared for. The staff were warm, polite, and attentive, and having the beach right outside was a big plus. It made for a comfortable, enjoyable stay.
