Oyo 10142 Retreat Morjim Resort

The quiet area and easy walk to Morjim beach were the only positives I could think of. The beach itself wasn't very crowded, and I've been to North Goa four times in the last four years, but this was my worst stay there by far. The room felt in poor shape. When the fan was on, it made the whole room sound as if it might fall apart. Cleanliness was another problem: the bathroom smelled bad, and I found spider webs in the room. The pool wasn't clean during the days I was there either. For the price, I'd give it 2/5, and my overall rating is 1/5. The online photos are misleading, so don't base a booking on them. My agent said the property had only been open for two months, which made all these problems on check-in especially surprising. I expected much better rooms and service from the staff. I shared this feedback with the agent who booked it and hope things improve for future guests, though I can't personally risk another stay. If you've already booked, I hope you enjoy it. Otherwise, I'd avoid it, at least for the next 12 months.

We had a great time in the pool, which sits right in the middle of the hotel. I stayed for a day with friends after booking through OYO. The rooms were good and clean, though they could use more upkeep. I only ate breakfast there, so can't really speak to the other food. Breakfast was delicious, but we had to wait because the small refills disappeared as soon as they arrived. Still, it's a good place for a stay with family or friends.

I was there for three days. The place has a lot going for it and is nice for the price, but it needs proper maintenance. The rooms weren't looked after well, and the curtains were dirty. When there aren't many guests, the staff say the kitchen is closed. There are three restaurants about a three-minute walk away. Cafe Garage was the best of them, with a lovely atmosphere and very tasty food, though it was a bit expensive.

It was a lovely place, but the owner really needs to keep it maintained so more tourists will want to stay. Breakfast could have had a better selection, and the restaurant needs a good cook. The sandwiches and poha they served weren't worth having. Luckily, there's an Udupi restaurant just outside the hotel with a great breakfast, which saved us.
