Achus inn

We were there for one night and had a good stay. The room was large and clean, and the price was good. It's a little away from town, but you can get an auto. The place is quiet, and you can visit another part of Munnar from there.

The room I was moved to wasn't clean. The sheet was dirty, torn and too small. I called reception to ask for a replacement. First he said he'd come in 10 minutes, then told me there were no other sheets and that this was the cleanest one. He brought a piece of cloth like a torn saree and said I could spread it out and sleep on it if I wanted. It smelled bad, so I didn't use it. Staying there was a very bad experience, and I can't recommend the place. The receptionist had spoken to me badly from the start because I didn't have my Aadhaar card or driving license. I showed him my Aadhaar in Digi locker, but he wasn't satisfied. He gave me a room number and said the room was there, without coming along or showing it to me. Before I could get to the room, freshen up and come back out, there was a loud knock and I heard a loud conversation. I opened the door halfway and explained, but he angrily told me in front of other guests that the room had changed. He should have said it politely. The guests told him not to fight, and he then asked me to move to another room.

This hotel is the same as Achus Inn, and I agree with the other ratings about its good location and quiet nights. The shower worked well, but the sink dripped and the room felt damp and moldy. The mattress badly needed replacing, since it wasn't stable and sagged in the middle. The room smelled strongly of smoke. When I brought it up, the receptionist was always polite, but denied that it was a smoking room and even tried to hide the ashtray that was clearly there.

The parking area is good, with space for cars and bikes. The room was clean, the service was good, and everything else was great.
