Club Mahindra Munnar

Our restaurant meals were average, with little variety and repetitive choices at both breakfast and dinner. We stayed for two nights, and the room service was inconvenient: after cleaning, the towels weren’t replaced, so we had to ask for them later that evening. Toilet paper and a napkin kit also weren’t replenished unless requested. We had no hot water for showers throughout the stay. For a resort promoted as four star, we expected better service and hospitality. There may be potential here, but room maintenance and guest service need work. Based on our visit, I wouldn’t recommend it at this time.

The staff helped make this a memorable holiday, and I’m grateful for the training Club Mahindra gives them. Mr.Sumesh and his team were proactive and helpful whenever we needed anything. When my husband had an unfortunate accident during the jungle safari, the doctor at the Spa was courteous and very helpful. ChefOm Prakash and Arul prakash worked hard to serve world class buffet desserts each day, and the tea room stewards were always smiling and courteous. My husband and I, both senior citizens, had a very pleasant stay at Lake View Mahindra resort in Munnar.

We stayed for two nights in December 2025. The resort has a good view, and the support staff were courteous and helpful. The rooms were a decent size, with comfortable beds. Still, bathroom cleanliness could be better, and the Wi-Fi kept dropping. It’s a bit remote, about 20 km from Munnar town and 2 km from the Chinnakanal road, with no signs to guide first-time visitors. Check-in wasn’t great either, as we waited around 20-30 minutes for our room cards. The buffet breakfast cost about 1300 INR per person, which wasn’t worth the selection.

The restaurant was one of the few parts of the stay that met expectations. The dining area was decent, and the food tasted above average, though there could have been more variety. I also liked the spacious layout of the rooms and the pleasant ambience, but they weren’t properly maintained. Staff were polite, yet seemed overwhelmed and too few in number. Simple requests took a long time, and service coordination felt poor. Transport was the biggest problem. The approach road is narrow, uneven, and difficult to navigate, so internal vehicles are essential, but there were too few and waits were long. Moving between rooms and common areas became frustrating, especially for elderly guests and families with children. The natural setting is spectacular, with greenery, rolling hills, mist-covered mountains, and dense forest, but service, staffing, maintenance, and transport problems overshadowed it. Of all the Club Mahindra properties I’ve visited, this one disappointed me most and didn’t meet the brand’s usual standards. With better maintenance, staffing, and transport arrangements, it could be much better.
