OYO Rooms 089 Kempty Fall

The place is far from Mussoorie city, so repeated trips back and forth get tiring. With four floors and no lift, it’s also difficult for families and senior citizens. We booked four rooms for two days with family, but the stay was disappointing and felt like a waste of money. Both days, washroom and toilet water supply was inadequate, and waterlogging in the toilet made it uncomfortable and unhygienic. Electricity kept going off, and staff didn’t handle issues professionally. The rooms were dirty and poorly maintained. Breakfast was pathetic, with many items still unavailable after 10:30 AM on both days. This didn’t feel like a resort experience at all, and I would never recommend it.

My husband and I stayed at Kempty falls resort, Mussoorie for three nights, and it was very disappointing. The photos looked appealing, but the resort wasn’t like them in reality. The rooms were decent, though the service was poor. Breakfast wasn’t included, and at Rs.5000 per night I expected tea or coffee sachets, but none were provided even after we asked the hotel authorities. Power went out several times, and the hygiene wasn’t satisfactory. I can’t recommend this place.

The price didn’t feel justified, with the service and atmosphere both disappointing. Food quality and taste were poor for what they charge, and the reception staff were rude and unprofessional, with no sense of how to speak to customers. The TV in my room wasn’t working. I told the staff twice, but nobody came to check it. From management to basic amenities, the standards were poor. I’d tell others to save their money and peace of mind and avoid booking this resort, since there are better nearby options.

Odd-numbered rooms have balconies facing the valley, with lovely views. Even-numbered rooms look toward the hotel entrance and parked vehicles, which is just okay. There’s a large open area by the entrance for parking. The location works well if you know where the hotel is and want to be near Kempty Waterfalls, about 1.5 km away. But it’s 13 km from Mall Road, so repeated trips there can be a problem for people prone to motion sickness. There’s no restaurant on site. For vegetarian meals, you can walk to the fourth floor of the neighboring hotel or go about 100 meters; the pizza place is about 200 meters away for pizza or non-vegetarian food. Bottled water isn’t complimentary and costs extra. Online rates are around ₹1,200-₹1,500, while offline rates are ₹800-₹1,000. I’d try booking offline and negotiating.
