Hotel Loksagar

The hotel is well located, with the palace within walking distance, and breakfast was great. Rooms were clean and the price was reasonable. Shower pressure could have been better, but everything else was good.

Our two-night stay was pretty average, with nothing especially good or bad until we used the laundry service. At 8 in the morning, we were told to hand over all our clothes and that they'd be ready by the end of the day. When we checked in the evening, we were told to come back the next morning. We got them at 8:30, but four of the eight shirts were unusable: the two white ones had large red stains, about 1-2 inches across, and two others had marks like bleach stains. The hotel staff initially seemed understanding and took the damaged shirts away. About ten minutes later, the woman who appeared to have washed them came into our room and yelled at us in Hindi. The receptionist came soon after and translated. Apparently, they thought it was our fault. We explained our side, but staff showed little interest. In the end, the only thing they did was waive the charge for the ruined clothes. Mistakes happen, and the damage itself wasn't the main issue. Getting no apology and being blamed felt disappointing and unprofessional. If everything goes smoothly, fine, but if a problem comes up, be ready to have them blame you.

The location was calm and convenient, close to the railway station. Our room was tidy and well maintained, and the staff were very friendly. Service was impressive, and we had a great stay at Hotel Lok Sagar. I'd definitely recommend it.

A short walk gets you to the palace and some nice restaurants, and the manager was particularly helpful when we needed to arrange a taxi at short notice. The rooms were clean and comfortable, although ours had only a tiny window. Breakfast was decent, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Good value for money, and a solid budget option for a night or two in Mysore.
