Our group of seven got two rooms, with a dining space between them and stairs up to the next floor. The service guy was decent and polite. It's not one of those 'exotic hotels', but it has the basics, including hot water, nicely sized bathrooms, and balconies in the front-facing rooms. Food is brought from a nearby hotel of its own, one of the exotic type. I liked the place. A trip to Himachal is about exploring the beauty and walking the narrow footpaths locals use, not staying in some fancy hotel.
