OYO Flagship 44549 Hotel Benjamin

There were cockroaches and lizards in my room, and housekeeping wouldn’t clean it, though they did disturb my belongings. They had no extra mattress or blanket, no toilet paper when I asked, and no fresh towels for three days because they said supplies were low. When the water ran out, they said they’d ordered a tanker but couldn’t say how long it would take. This hotel is extremely short-staffed.

The hotel is beautiful and the staff are good, but management hasn’t taken enough initiative. The lift and geyser weren’t working, and the bathroom water was very dirty, so I had to rely on bottled water even to rinse my mouth. Drinking water wasn’t provided, and each bottle had to be bought for Rs. 20. Food is very costly.

Since the ownership changed, the staff performance and facilities have gone downhill. Rates have gone up, while facilities that used to be available are now missing. They don’t accept card payments, the lifts and intercoms don’t work, and items listed on the menu aren’t available. There’s no corporate discount, and they ask for 70% advance payment at check-in.

The food was inedible, and I still feel sick thinking about the pork I ordered. They charged heavily for what they served. The free Wi-Fi didn’t work at all, the gym was a bunny’s horn, and the bar was locked until the roomkeeper went to get the keys. Drinking there felt like being in a college hall, with the housekeeper serving as both bartender and waiter. The employees always seemed new. I’d read the hotel’s replies saying management had changed, but I think they change staff frequently, which is a problem too. There were billing problems as well. I was told the room cost 2200 per night, which I understood to mean 2200 x 5, but at checkout they handed me a bill charging 3200 per night, or 3200 x 5. No one had told me about the higher rate, and the bill itself was written in a surreal, childish way. The TV in my room didn’t work. After I complained, they offered another room, then told me it would cost more because it was pricier. I said that wasn’t acceptable since the faulty TV was their problem. They then took me to a room downstairs. After a long trip, it was embarrassing to walk around the hotel with my luggage. That room had a broken bathroom door too, but I didn’t complain. This place doesn’t deserve a star. Please leave it out.
