Asapin Vanymahal

Our group of ten, including relatives, stayed for two nights from 12/12/2025 to 14/12/2025. The first day, the room smelled bad, and the walls had seepage, which were the problems we ran into. Apart from that, the price felt fair for what we got, and I'd check into Asapin Vanymahal Hotel again if I'm in the area. The staff were friendly, patient, and keen to make us comfortable. Breakfast and dinner were excellent, with lots of variety, and they even made local dishes based on our suggestions. It worked really well for a stay with friends or family.

We left shocked and disgusted by what we got for the price. We booked on the eve of Diwali, so I can understand some staff shortage, but the facilities and photos were seriously misleading. The 9.3 rating on Booking.com and other portals made us choose this place over a five-star option nearby, even though the tariff was comparable. I suspect those online reviews may be paid. It was confusing from the start: our booking said 'Asapin Vanymahal', while the property is actually called Madhunandan. Google Maps sent us along a frightening, isolated stretch into the wilderness, where we couldn't go any farther. When we called, they referred us to a 'Madhunandan' guest house at a turn we'd already missed, since we were looking for the other name. Reaching the place is very difficult, especially at night, when it can be hard to tell where the road goes and feels dangerous. This is a lodge, not a hotel, and the photos make it look much larger and grander than it is. Our Super Deluxe Room was on the ground floor right beside the pool. Its French glass window faced the pool, so we had no privacy. There was a dead lizard in the room when we arrived, and cobwebs, moths, insects, and mosquitoes around afterward. The washroom flush was dirty. The bed linen was dirty too, the pillows had no covers and were so hard we couldn't sleep, and there was no cupboard. The fan remote had no batteries, so we had to take them from the AC remote. No one was available to carry or help with luggage. Breakfast was made to order, not served as a buffet.

A comfortable stay in a very nice spot. It's a little isolated, but the food was good too.

The staff were attentive and friendly, and the food was delicious. Our room was spacious and clean, with lovely greenery outside. It's a peaceful place for relaxing, taking nature walks, or visiting nearby attractions, a great way to get away into nature.
