Capital O 29136 Hotel Shivalaya

The staff were friendly, cooperative, and dedicated, but the hotel itself was a bad experience. My room was below what I expected: the linens were torn, the towels were too, the sink was broken, and the showers didn’t work. I changed rooms, but the showers there were broken as well. The food was awful, and the location is a long way from the city. I wouldn’t consider it suitable for a family stay or outing, though it might do for a late-night stop when nothing else is available.

We ended up in one room even though I’d booked two. I had told them in advance that we’d arrive late at night, and they’d agreed, but when we got there they denied having our booking. Then they asked for more money, taking advantage of the situation. A man named " KARAN " was rude and appeared to be directing the staff. The service left me very frustrated. It was a horrible experience, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. I booked online through Make My Trip (MMT) five days before check-in, but when I arrived, manager Mr. Karan said the hotel was full and couldn’t give me a room. I felt the staff handled this very unprofessionally and seemed unwilling to pay commissions to their partners, OYO and MMT. I expected respectful, professional treatment after booking ahead. I also think MMT and OYO share responsibility. They should have confirmed the booking, told me about any possible issue before I arrived, and arranged somewhere else for me to stay. The whole situation left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I hope MMT and OYO take this feedback seriously and prevent this from happening again.

The complimentary breakfast was pathetic. It took 45 minutes to get a cup of tea and two slices of bread, and I had to call room service twice. The washroom ceiling in my room leaked when it started raining, and there was no emergency power backup when the electricity went off that night. I also had to pay twice because the hotel said it doesn’t receive payment from OYO for paid bookings, so I had to cancel and pay again, with no OYO refund available. It was a horrible stay, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
