Emerald Woods Mukteshwar

We spent two days and nights here, and it was a bad choice. The biggest problem was the service. We repeatedly asked for water and never got it, and had to keep reminding them about the bonfire. When it was finally set up, the wood was in huge, wet chunks that wouldn't burn, so we stayed cold. Requests often got a no, and at times there weren't enough eggs and bread for all of us or the tea was watered down. The food they made was good, but having to nag for basic things made the stay uncomfortable. The room was in poor shape too. The sheets were dirty, with rat droppings, and rats ate our clothes. The table lamps didn't work, the lighting was too dim, the heaters barely worked, and the doors wouldn't close properly. They also misrepresented the facilities and charges. All 11 of us were crammed into a car with seating for 6+1, though it had been described as 12+1. When we raised our complaints with the resort owner, he behaved badly. I hope others don't have the same experience, especially when they're just trying to enjoy a trip.

The fresh, pine-scented air and mountain views made it easy to unwind at Emerald Woods in Mukteshwar. We enjoyed tea on the private balcony, and the staff treated us like family, serving home-cooked meals with fresh local ingredients. You can head out among the fruit orchards or just relax as the sun turns the snowy peaks gold. It brings rustic charm and modern luxury together, and the grandeur of Uttarakhand makes the place feel like a little sanctuary away from the city.

We had a lovely family visit and were treated with great hospitality. A friend recommended the property, and I'm glad they did. We'll come back on another vacation.

The tents were clean, neat, and well lit, and the staff were very courteous. A nice place to stay close to nature and enjoy Pahadi food.
