Green Oak Resort

The balcony view more than makes up for the slightly high room prices, especially when booking close to check-in. The resort sits away from the main road, and its fantastic view and nature walk are unlike what you'll find elsewhere. The rooms are good, and the washrooms are clean and newly done. Food is average, though by Mukteshwar standards it's good. This is my third stay, which says a lot about the place's quality. Take care on the final 200 m of sloping road in heavy rain or snow, as a car can skid there.

The room was cosy, with neatly made, comfortable beds, though there wasn't much space. The website photo seemed to have been taken with a 10MM lens. Superior rooms have a southeast-facing balcony with a sunrise view. The heater was essential in December 2017, and staff brought one as soon as we asked. Their weather update had been accurate. Room dining was prompt, and most of the food was warm and nice, but the omelette was rushed and raw inside. I prefer my eggs well done. We had to call reception every morning for hot water. They pumped it into the overhead tank, then it came through the geyser after heating, but hot water was available. Staff said free Wi-Fi was provided and gave us the passwords, though we couldn't connect. We ordered our meals in the room and didn't visit the restaurant. The drive towards Mukteshwar had us passing several resorts before we spotted the Green Oak Resort sign. The way down was narrow, barely wide enough for a modern MUV, but just a few metres along was this beautifully situated resort. The warm staff got us checked in quickly. Our stay was pleasant, thanks to Mr. Pradeep's hospitality, the heater, and good food. We had a lovely time and would recommend the resort to anyone planning a trip.

The beds were good, the linen was clean, and there was plenty of parking. The rooms need freshening up and have a strong stench. Bathroom fittings leak, and the shower cubicle is missing its glass.

We stayed as a family in June 2019 and thought it was very good value for money. The staff were polite, service was prompt, and the food was delicious, made to suit our tastes and requests.
