OYO 37824 Shri Home Annexe

Staff were polite, and one staff member who dropped us off was especially gentle. He got us safely to Kathgodam Railway Station at 8AM, and I want to thank him for that. The rest of my stay was much less positive. I was there for three days, Nov 12 - Nov 15, 2019. The hotel was difficult to find on the map, and even our local cab driver struggled. It’s a kilometre uphill from Naini lake, which is hard for older people to walk. After an evening by the lake, cars charge 200 INR just to take you back to the hotel. At about 2000 INR, the room was overpriced for its quality. The remote location also means relying on the hotel cab for an early checkout, while local taxis are a kilometre downhill. When using the hotel cab, you might end up waiting on the road at night while the driver fetches the hotel owner’s daughter, then be charged the fare while sharing the cab with someone else. At checkout, the water in my room had been stopped, and we were told to use another room’s bathroom. I couldn’t understand why our room had no water while the adjacent one did. Budget hotels on Mall Road are on level ground facing the lake, with taxis readily available.

The hotel is in a beautiful spot, and the staff were very helpful. Rooms were clean, and service was so good that the team helped us in every situation. It’s a little far from the bus stand and the boathouse, though that was okay. Food was sufficient in both quality and quantity.

The balcony has a nice view of Nainital, and the hospitality here is awesome. Such a great place to stay with family. Special thanks to mohis for the wonderful work. Thanks dear, GBU.

The room was decent, though it could have been cleaner. It wasn’t unhygienic, and the room service food was great. The staff and service were very good too.
