Getting there was a struggle, and the problems started as soon as we arrived. The hotel is high up, and DEvender, the manager, may misdirect you depending on his mood. We called in the morning for directions, but he didn't explain the route properly, so we took a much longer way than the easiest one. The rooms, corridor, and kitchen were in a terrible, unhygienic state and smelled bad. Plates were kept on a drain and then used to serve food. The bedsheets were dirty and torn, and we found mice and cockroaches in the room. There were issues with the water and washroom too. You have to keep asking for the water supply, and the room lights can't be switched on from inside because all the switches are outside. The TV channels are controlled as well. If you can put up with all ten of these problems, book at your own risk.

This hotel in Nainital, Uttarakhand, was really awful. I couldn't find any proper facilities. The geyser wasn't working, neither was the TV, and the bathroom had no mug, bucket, or shower. The worst part is that I booked through the OYO helpline myself and asked for a good room. With a discount, it cost Rs. 1508, but honestly, it wasn't even worth Rs. 500. This place isn't suitable for couples either. OYO shows a Rs. 3000 price, then advertises 50 percent off and books it for Rs. 1500, but the room still isn't worth Rs. 500. I hate OYO.

We couldn't get a refund from goibibo, so we had no choice but to stay for a day. The geysers didn't work, and the jammed doors wouldn't close. When we told the owner about the room amenities, he threatened us with having to leave and told us to cancel the goibibo booking.

The rooms are nice, with lighting like a jewellery shop. Finding the place took a lot of effort. It's actually called "oyo acorn," not "oyo wooden stayz," and the landmark is passport seva kendra head post office nainital. Getting there involves a very steep 65-70 degree climb, so older people should probably avoid it.

The location is very good if you're able to walk up a steep hill, and the staff are cooperative. Cleanliness is just okay, parking is a major problem, and the hotel doesn't feel like good value.
