The Lake Resort

The people here made the place feel especially warm. They’re kind, humble, and polite, and they care for local animals as well as guests’ pets. As someone who loves my pet more than anything, seeing that was heartwarming. I’ve travelled a lot in India, and this is honestly one of the most beautiful, peaceful places I’ve visited. The surroundings are so pretty and serene, and the food was amazing, 10/10. I’d recommend it to families wanting to get away from the noise and bustle of busy cities. A great experience with lovely people.

The in-house cafe is great, though the restaurant was just okay, and the courteous staff were a little slow. The property is huge and reasonably well managed, and it’s one of the best resorts in Naukuchiatal. I stayed in the hunting lodge. The rooms are spacious and clean, and there’s a huge lakeside frontage with direct access to the lake at any time.

In Jan 2026, I came for lunch because their Pahadi chicken and Pahadi raita had been highly recommended. A movie was being shot, so we couldn’t eat in the restaurant. The staff kindly arranged for us to eat at their other nearby continental cafe instead, and everyone was courteous and helpful.

Kayaking on the lake was the best part of our weekend at the Lake Resort in Naukuchiatal. It was quiet, peaceful, and grounding, a welcome break from the city. The resort is beautifully maintained and tucked into nature. Our room was clean and cozy, and the food was enjoyable, with a nice mix of local flavors and familiar comfort dishes. From the moment we arrived, the whole place felt serene, just the lake and mountain air. Prateek deserves a special mention. He was thoughtful, attentive, and a delight to talk with, combining professional service with a personal touch. I’d recommend a stay here if you want time to pause, breathe, and feel well looked after.
