Ashirwad Lodge by OYO Rooms

The rooms are untidy, and it seems they aren't cleaned between guests. When we asked for a clean bedsheet, the staff behaved badly and told us to vacate. Worst hotel.

The location is easy to find and close to the ghat. The rooms are good, and they've recently been painted. Staff were good too. Worth every penny.

Panchavati ghat is under half a kilometre away, and there are plenty of nearby dining choices, though the hotel itself doesn't serve food. The rooms are spacious, well designed, and clean, and the helpful staff provide good service. Rates are reasonable and negotiable. Parking is a real drawback: there's no space at the property even for a two wheeler, and the entrance has a steep incline. There is plenty of parking at the ghats for daytime, but I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving a vehicle unattended there at night. The waiting room is quite small, and checking out at night can be a problem.

We had fully paid in advance for four rooms for seven people, starting at noon. We arrived at 1:30 pm and the desk person gave us just two rooms, saying the other guests had extended their stay and paid the hotel for a late checkout. We finally got the other two at 3:15. How can advance booked rooms be given to someone else? The location is the only plus. There's no lift or room service staff to carry luggage to the second floor, so you have to haul it yourself.
