I wasn't very sure about booking because the rating was under 4, and finding the hotel seemed difficult. Google Maps got me there without any trouble, though, and the reception gave me a warm welcome. The room's comfort and cleanliness really impressed me. It was spacious and tidy, with a welcome drink and the air conditioner already on when we arrived. The bed linens and towels were clean, and toiletries were provided. Breakfast was complimentary too. An excellent place to stay in Mumbai.

The rooms were clean and nice, and the building sits on a quiet street, so there wasn't much traffic noise. It's close to the main road and easy to find, though there's no clear sign identifying it. Breakfast was simple, with vegetarian dishes and fruit, and an omelette was available on request. For lunch or dinner, you need to let them know in advance so they can prepare it. They offer unlimited vegetarian or non-vegetarian thali. The staff were very helpful.

The reception person wouldn't tell me the room rates or availability, and wouldn't let me see the place or a room. I was told to look up the information online, book first, and only then come there. Strange. From outside, it looks like an ordinary residential building, with no parking. There's only a sign for Nalanda building, and neither the appearance nor the people in the neighborhood give any indication that it's a hotel. That left the place feeling insecure and suspicious.

At midnight, after three family members had filled in the form and shown ID, along with a marriage certificate, they refused to let us check in. Their reason was that the other family members, who were senior citizens, didn't have ID. It was a horrible experience and caused us a lot of distress. The reception behavior felt very suspicious, and I've never had anything like this happen at another hotel. Something seemed very fishy.
