Tourist Pension

We loved our time with the family and only wished we could have stayed longer. Rajesh guided us around a few havelis, and that was lovely. The food was great, and our stay at the tourist pension felt so authentic. Thanks again to the family, maybe next time 🤗

We should have booked more than two nights. Nawalgarh was a marvelous way to begin our northern India trip, and we highly recommend stopping here. The host family welcomed us with such enthusiasm, and their love for Nawalgarh and the region was clear. Our rooms had everything we needed. Sharing dinner each evening with the family father and other guests gave us a chance to talk about our impressions and learn more about life here. The city tour was probably the highlight, though it’s hard to pick just one. We walked through the busy bazaar, heard about the havelis around town, and picked up snacks along the way. We’d never have known what to notice or found our way through all those streets by ourselves. We also joined an evening cooking workshop, which was insightful and a real treat to eat. Our hosts answered every question so warmly that we felt right at home.

The hosts were gracious, and the homemade food was fresh, healthy, and exceptional. This beautifully furnished Haveli style pension has a traditional sitting area, shaded veranda, and rooftop. You can walk to the other historic places in town.

The excursions Rajesh arranged made the area’s heritage come alive for me. I joined walks through Nawalgarh’s frescoed havelis, countryside drives, workshops such as indien bracelet crafting, and bike tours. Rajesh also shared lots about local culture, architecture, and hidden gems across Shekhawati. His wife Sarla made every meal a standout, fresh and flavorful, with so much care. Breakfast brought homemade bread, butter, jams, yogurt, and fresh juice. Dinners were a lovely range of traditional vegetarian dishes made with organic produce. I'm still enchanted. I spent four wonderful days at Rajesh Jangid Tourist Pension, and Rajesh and his family made me feel at home from the moment I arrived. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and comfortable, with handmade wooden furniture and an authentic feel. Their environmental ethos showed in details like solar hot water, organic farm to table meals, and other eco friendly practices. I can’t recommend the pension enough. It was a kind, comfortable cultural experience, and I left with cherished memories and a close connection to Rajesh and his family.
