The pool was a real highlight, with shaded loungers and a quiet, private feel since only guests can use it. It’s about a 500 m walk, roughly seven minutes, from the property, but easy to spend a few hours there. Around the hotel, there’s a lawn with a table and chairs, geese wandering by and white rabbits in an enclosure. Our room was roomy, clean and well kept. After nearly six months traveling in India, this was the first place where the room smelled welcoming whenever we opened the door. Check-in was quick, and the friendly staff gave us a handy map of the old palaces and mansions around town. You can visit at least five of them to see the architecture. Dinner was delicious, and they understood what we meant by “mild” and “medium.” You need to order by 5 pm, with dinner starting at 7:30. Breakfast in the morning was good and included.

The place was clean and well cared for, and I loved its traditional Chettinad architecture. The staff were courteous, too. The food selection is limited, but what we tried was delicious and tasted like home. A lovely choice for a peaceful stay.

At breakfast, they take you by buggy to nearby Chettinad mansions, and the ride lets you enjoy the area’s quiet atmosphere. Evenings were lovely outside, listening to all the birds flying around. I really enjoyed staying here.

The staff made the stay feel especially welcoming. Everyone we met was warm, attentive and professional, and they handled our requests quickly with a smile. Their care for guests really stood out. Chettinad Court also has spacious, spotless rooms with a thoughtful layout and all the supplies we needed. It blends local character with modern comfort, and we felt well looked after from arrival through departure. A great place to stay in Chettinad, highly recommended.

A village walk is a must if you want to get a feel for the place. Kanadukathan is full of beautiful heritage houses, and many are open to visitors. Chettinad Court is a comfortable base for exploring the village. The rooms are tidy, spacious and well kept, and the staff were very helpful, sharing good tips for seeing more of the area.
