The village setting means you need transport to get around, with the beaches 4-5 kms away and Panaji 12 kms away. My hosts kindly arranged a vehicle at a very reasonable price. Once I was back at Quinta da Graça, the garden felt like its own little ecosystem, with coconut, mango, sapodilla and papaya trees, birdsong each morning and the scent of flowers. The house is more than 80 years old, yet my room had a refrigerator, AC, electric kettle, geyser, queen-sized bed and other furniture. It was kept exceptionally clean with regular room service. I chose this Indo-Portuguese colonial mansion in Saligao because I wanted to experience living in a local family's traditional home. Savio and Audrey, a warm and humble Goan couple, looked after me during my week-long stay in November. My first visit to Goa became a real introduction to its heritage, architecture, culture, people and food. I especially enjoyed Savio's folk stories, advice and insights into local history and culture. Our morning conversations covered art, traditions and faith, among other topics. He's widely travelled, very erudite, and also an art connoisseur with an impressive collection of antiques from around the world, which he kindly showed me on a tour of the house. I still felt I could have spent more time learning from him. Audrey made a warm, homely breakfast with local bread, fresh vegetables, assorted fruit and hot tea or coffee. Quinta da Graça felt like home away from home, and the stay was an exceptional experience. I'd highly recommend it and hope to return on future trips to Goa.

Savio is a friendly owner and always ready to help, and I felt peaceful as soon as I walked into Quinta de graca. The property has lovely plants and is set in beautiful Saligao, with that genteel, old-world Goan charm. Rooms are very tidy, well maintained and furnished with exquisite antique pieces. Breakfast was great: eggs your way with Goan poie bread, fresh fruit, tea and coffee. Cleanliness was superb throughout. I strongly recommend it for an easy stay close to North Goa's lively spots.

The highlight for us was spending time with the lovely host, Uncle Savio. The house and its carefully kept garden were beautiful, and the prime beaches of North Goa were close by. It was our first trip together after getting married, and staying at Quinta Da Graca made it a memorable one. We're glad we chose it.

Mr. and Mrs. Savio run this guest house in a calm, pleasant area, and they were very helpful with everything our family needed. I stayed with my family, including a child. The place is close to North Goa's main attractions, yet suited to people who enjoy village life and want to be away from city noise. You can stay here happily without a second thought.

I felt at home from the moment I came through the gates of Quinta da Graca, and my four days there passed like a dream. Breakfast was a particular treat: Audrey's omelettes with fresh buttered poie, fruit salad, sides and home-brewed coffee disappeared quickly, leaving time to chat with Savio about local history, architecture, ecology, wildlife and just about everything else. He is wonderfully erudite. The rooms are immaculately kept and filled with exquisite antique furniture. Set in beautiful Saligao, this is a lovely place to experience Goa's genteel, old-world charm. It was a real privilege to stay in this beautiful home and meet Savio and Audrey, its gracious owners.
