Quarto de Casa Tipri

The balcony-like space at the center of the house and the tables and chairs outside each room made it easy to sit and relax. Smokers can enjoy a cigarette outside without filling their room with smoke. The Superior room where my friend and I stayed was simple, clean and comfortable, and the room service felt just as homely. Quarto isn't fancy, but it has the feel of staying at a relative's place, with excellent value and very little to fault on cleanliness. Nicolaus, the friendly host, also gave us thoughtful advice on transport and places to visit, helping us plan our time economically. The beach is about a 10-minute trip away. This was my first homestay, and it felt like a warm, all-paid vacation in Saligoa, almost like being in my own home.

Breakfast was lovely, and the staff were courteous and friendly without getting in your way. Nicholas, the owner, is kind, intelligent and knows the area well. The grounds are quiet and welcoming, and the place is rural, peaceful and immaculate. My room looked great and was spotless; the bathroom was beautifully finished, with a strong shower and hot water straight away. If you want a calm stay instead of the party scene closer to the beach, this location works well. The beach isn't too far, and you can rent a moped from the guest house easily. Highly, highly recommended!

Quarto's peaceful setting made for a wonderful stay, and the host and helpful staff made it feel comfortable and homely. The host arranged a scooter and taxi for us and offered useful ideas for planning our days. I'd definitely choose Quarto again on my next trip to Goa.

Quarto de Casa Tipri was a good budget stay, and Nicolaus was a good owner. Paddy fields surround the hotel, and in the morning you can hear peacocks. It's peaceful, with no traffic noise, though the location is remote: you'll need a bike or your own vehicle, since buses don't go there. Airtel 4G didn't work for me. The beaches are nearby, about 4-5 km away. Overall, I had a good stay :)
