Lutyens Bungalow

Lutyens is a lovely little village in the middle of Delhi. Staying here felt like being welcomed home by family after a long trip, and they took such good care of us. The breakfasts and dinners had that delicious, shared family-meal feeling. A truly special hotel.

The pool was great, and a very cute golden retriever kept us company there. I stayed here in fall 2024 before a motorcycle trip. The host and everyone on the staff we met were wonderful and made it feel like home away from home. Their kindness meant a lot while we were worn out from travel and barely able to get words out because of jet lag. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

The owners were very nice, and the food was amazing. We especially liked the simple, homemade dinner. The location is hard to beat. The room and the property's overall cleanliness didn’t feel worth the price. We had to ask for someone to clean our floor right after entering, and the cleaner used a cloth. The bathtub in the bathroom was also very poorly maintained.

We were only here for one night, but I’m really glad we chose this place. It’s quiet and quaint, close to Chanakyapuri and the Embassy, which makes it handy for business travelers with visa appointments. It’s also close enough to walk to Safdarjung tomb. If booking an Uber, search for "Nath" because the name may be misleading. The hosts were welcoming, and there were two lovely dogs and two cats. The property also has an art studio, a nursery, and lots of parrots and other birds. Our room was a little small but did the job. The radiator/heater wasn’t very effective, though there was hot water and an air purifier. A thoughtful touch in winter was a hotbag under the covers to warm the duvets before we arrived. Breakfast was absolutely yummy, and they have a great tea selection. It normally runs until 10 am, but our appointments went a bit long, and they kindly made us hot parathas and omelettes anyway. It poured on the day of our appointment, and the hosts lent us an umbrella since we hadn’t come prepared. We also left an eyemask in the room at checkout. They found it and saved it, then helped send it back when I returned to Delhi a few days later. Really admirable service. Highly recommend.
