The staff were good, and I liked the location, concept, and ambience. It was cold even in the middle of April. Breakfast was good, though there wasn’t much choice, just idly and upma. For a payment of 3.5K, quite a few things need work. The room had no mirror, so even a simple face mirror would help. The hobbit hole is round inside at floor level, leaving space for only one person to stand. You have to sit or lie on the bed, and it’s fine for a couple but difficult with a child. A square concrete bar at floor level could solve that. There’s very little standing room, which makes changing clothes hard. Even half a meter of space beyond the bed would help. There’s also nowhere to store things, though storage could easily go under the bed. The toilet by the tents is very basic, and it’s hard to stand properly to take off or put on pants. I’d suggest using one of the three toilets near the restaurant instead. Those were clean, neat, spacious, and had a mirror and washbasins in the common area. The washrooms in the tents have no hooks or hangers. Some lights were broken and hadn’t been fixed properly, which could be dangerous for kids. The bedsheet and pillow covers were moderately dirty and hadn’t been changed from the day before. When I showed them the dirt on the pillows, they changed them. I asked for soap, was told they were out, and they didn’t arrange any, so I went into town to buy some.
