OYO 10068 Hotel Rathna

The room was fine, but we got no room service at all during our four days there. They gave us just one towel for two guests, and we made do. After two days we asked for fresh towels, but that never happened either. They said none were available and they’d bring some later, but they didn’t. I’m not sure we should have to keep chasing them for basic service.

Ooty has lots of hotels, but I feel lucky I picked this one. The service was good and the rooms were nice for a relatively low price. The food was so, so good, especially the Butter Masala Dosa. I can’t get over it. I ate three dosas that morning. Loved the stay, highly recommend it.

The one thing that went smoothly was check-in. We arrived an hour early and they let us in. After that, the stay was a letdown. We booked two rooms through OYO; they looked generally clean, but were badly maintained, including broken bathroom doors. Housekeeping was practically nonexistent. I left the key with the manager in the morning and the room still hadn't been cleaned by 5 pm. Even rubbish left outside wasn't picked up. Some staff were rude, too. Food was expensive, vegetarian only, and came with a 10% service charge for no clear reason. They also wouldn't allow outside food, which felt unfair given the limited and overpriced options. We expected much better from OYO and were severely disappointed.

I stayed from February 12 to 16 and wouldn't recommend this place. There was no housekeeping or room service during that time, and the bathrooms weren't cleaned. The geyser didn't work, so we had to depend on a boiler that was available only from 7 to 10 in the morning and later in the evening. The breakfast I'd booked was pathetic.
