This is Hotel Sunpark Grand, a second property of Hotel Sunpark. The listing’s photo set is incorrect, and the two properties are 700 m apart. Grand is in the heart of Ooty, close to tourist spots, Mall road, and good restaurants. There’s no restaurant on site, but plenty of places to eat nearby. The rooms have a colonial feel, with chandeliers and warm lighting. Guests need to ask each day for fresh towels, an electric kettle, and room service. There are no tea or coffee sachets in the rooms either. You can order tea or coffee, which the hotel staff prepare in a makeshift basement kitchen. I hope management improves these little things so guests can easily rate the property five stars.

Highly recommend for families. Everyone on staff is very humble, and Krishna Kumar sir is such a nice person who greets guests with a smile.

The rooms are good quality and neat, and I was very satisfied with the customer service. Prices are moderate. Parking is available in front, but they provided us a spot at another Sunpark hotel a little way away. Overall, the rooms and service are good enough.

This was my second stay here. I picked it for the view, the peace and quiet, and the reasonable price. The hotel is spread out, so guests get privacy and a calm stay. Rooms are spacious, well appointed, and have the basic amenities for comfort. Deluxe rooms look out over Ooty and the surrounding hills from the small hill where the hotel sits. Getting there takes care, though. The approach is a narrow, winding road for about 500 meters, and you need to watch for the right turn off the main road. Parking is plentiful, ample, and safe. The staff are friendly but a little slow, though they provide most things. Piping hot water is available 24 hours. Staff can also arrange liquor on request.

The Wi-Fi they promised didn’t work, even though the rooms are in the basement. The TV was out too, and the power went off three times during the day. Service was pathetic: the receptionist was completely uncooperative and didn’t value customers, while management came across as arrogant. Whenever we asked for toiletries or room service, they acted as if they were doing us a favor. The whole experience was awful. I wouldn’t recommend staying here because it could spoil your vacation, and I wouldn’t choose to visit again.
