Athreya Ayurvedic Resort

I spent nearly five weeks at Athreya and left very happy with the place and its people. Before I arrived, several phone calls helped discuss my needs and prepare me well. I was welcomed warmly and looked after with great care, physically and mentally, throughout my stay. I especially appreciated Dr. Sreejit and his colleagues, and really enjoyed the therapists’ treatments. I’d recommend Athreya wholeheartedly, and I’m sure I’ll return to build on what I achieved there. Thank you so much!

I came back to Atreya Ayurvedic Center in Kottayam in February 2026, and it confirmed how authentic and effective a clinic this is. This was my second visit, and I’m certain I’ll return in July 2027. It’s disciplined and deeply rooted in tradition. A meaningful part of my stay was joining Dr. Shreejit’s Agnihotra Yajna. He doesn’t advertise it, but welcomes patients who want to take part. I joined because I’d grown up hearing it could cleanse negative karmas and purify the environment. I later found out he prays during the ceremony for the health and wellbeing of past, current, and future patients. That struck me as a deeply caring and selfless act, both from a doctor and a person. I found it grounding and meaningful. The care from everyone was respectful and genuine. Dr. Jayalaxmi, Dr. Shreejit’s wife, comes from the family that started the center generations ago. I also appreciated the junior doctors, my therapists Ranjini and Aarya, kitchen staff Sudhish and Yedish, and the rest of the clinic team. I first came in February 2024 after losing my sense of smell completely because of COVID. With Nasya and specialized therapies, including herbal smoke applications, it gradually returned, and even became stronger. I was amazed by the result. One thing to understand before booking: this is not a spa. It’s a clinical treatment center for genuine health concerns, and the care is serious and results-oriented. I met a couple of patients who had expected a spa-like stay, but that isn’t what this place offers. I strongly recommend starting with a consultation with Chief Doctor Dr. Shreejit. His assessment is thorough and thoughtful, and grounded in classical Ayurveda.

Before booking, I’d strongly suggest an online consultation with Dr Sreejit. It lets the team plan treatments around your condition in advance, saves time, and helps avoid mismatched expectations after arrival. During my stay, the staff were organized, attentive, and friendly, and the treatments felt professional and had noticeable results. The food was fresh, healthy, and adapted to individual needs. The facility was clean and well maintained, with a calm atmosphere that made it easy to switch off.

I’m grateful to the whole Athreya team, especially Sudhi, Neethu, Bijitha, Rahul, Vinisha, Ashish, Jayakumar, and the kitchen staff. They’re the reason I came back, and I was there again in October 2025. My first stay was in November 2024, and the care left me feeling restored and balanced. The center is clean, peaceful, and surrounded by nature, a lovely setting for healing and relaxation. Dr Sreeji took time to understand my health concerns and suggested effective, rejuvenating treatments. Along with herbal medicines and a diet tailored to me, the therapies noticeably helped my physical and mental wellbeing. From arrival, I felt welcomed and cared for. The staff were kind, knowledgeable, and attentive, and my treatment plan was personalized and rooted in authentic Ayurvedic principles. I’d recommend Athreya to anyone looking for genuine Ayurvedic care.
