Hotel Campal

Soul Curry was a highlight, especially the Paneer Paratha at breakfast. It was delicious, and I’d recommend trying it. Hotel Campal also made getting around easy, with a central Panjim location, parking, and decent rooms at an affordable price. I’d stay here again.

The hotel worked well for my plans, close to the main road but away from the rush, and not far from several places I wanted to visit. I spent three days in a ground-floor room. It was neat, tidy, and budget friendly, and the restaurant next door had a decent choice of dishes.

The attached Soul curry restaurant served good food, though I felt the portions were a bit small. The hotel itself is in a great spot for getting around the city, but the infrastructure is old, the room was below average, and some electrical equipment had problems. Most concerning, staff entered our room to clean while we were out sightseeing, without our key or consent.

The rooms were fairly spacious and decent, though the property itself feels dated. During the mornings, the floor and walls got very damp, which made things uncomfortable. After a week there, I’d call it just okay, and for the price it didn’t feel like good value.
