I only made an online enquiry, but the call was enough to put me off. I asked how many people the jeep could carry, and Mr Rajiv Agarwal said six. When I naturally asked whether that included the driver, he replied sarcastically, “Haan driver rahega, aapko driver se kya problem ho Rahi hai..aap chalayengi kya Gaadi?” After I asked why he was being disrespectful, he brought up self-drive as if to cover his behavior. He showed little patience or manners, and the quoted stay price seemed far too high for what the place offers. I would not recommend it.

The pool was too dirty for me to swim in, though the location and rooms were good. The resort is otherwise an excellent place to stay in Bandhavgarh.

The rooms were in terrible shape, with dirty, torn pillowcases and bed covers, plus cigarette burns on the comforter and blanket. The atmosphere didn’t feel suitable for families. Boys were drinking and playing loud music all night, disturbing other guests, and seemed ready to fight when someone tried to stop them. Staff weren’t cooperative either. This was the worst service experience we had there.

The hotel is right at the entrance to Tala’s core forest, and they can also connect guests with government safari cars. Our room was huge, enough for six or seven people, and the staff were very friendly. The pool table could use more upkeep. The staff will clean the swimming pool if you ask in advance. We had an amazing time.
