Hotel Amalfi Grand

The staff were prompt and good, and the breakfast was average with enough choices. The location is convenient, though it gets congested during business hours, and there’s no real view from the window because the hotel sits in a crowded area. The room layout was poor, and the bathroom was the worst I’ve seen in years of hotel stays. After one shower, water gets sprayed everywhere and the bathroom is unusable for the next 12 hours. The toiletries were poor quality, and there were no bathroom slippers or hair dryer. I wonder how this is rated four stars. At best, it barely deserves three.

The worst part of my stay was finding an insect in my food. That’s a serious food safety issue, and it suggests a real lack of cleanliness in the kitchen and food preparation area. When I told the staff, they were careless and unhelpful, with no apology, concern, or proper effort to resolve it. The hygiene was poor from the moment I checked in, and the rooms and common areas didn’t seem properly maintained either. I was extremely disappointed and feel others should know. The cleanliness, food safety, staff behavior, and management all fall far below basic standards. I’d strongly advise people to avoid this hotel. There are better options, and this place needs major improvement before it’s suitable for guests.

The rooms and food were okay, and breakfast was good with plenty of options. Staff behavior was good too. The problem was the MAP meal plan: although I booked meals as part of the plan, they served a buffet with only the main-course menu, so I had to eat what they offered instead of choosing from the menu. They should change how the meal plan works.

We booked the hotel for a marriage function, and it was well maintained with top-notch service. The food was really good throughout the five days we ate there for the various functions. Kudos to Pravin Ji and his team for the exceptional service. I’d definitely recommend the hotel.
